About Us
When Philip Pelusi opened the doors of Tela Design Studio, home to the ARIUM Space, he knew he would finally fulfill one of his lifelong ambitions: to lend his support to the arts and to provide a platform for emerging artists—whose craft may be music or painting or design—to garner the accolades and gain the recognition they deserve. Pelusi regularly funds classical performances, art exhibitions and film screenings in the ARIUM space, and his plan for expansion is tightly under wraps as one of the best-kept secrets in the Meatpacking District. With Tela Design Studio, Pelusi takes his entrepreneurship to new heights; to give back to the community which has elevated him to unparalleled status in the beauty industry.
Throughout the course of his adventurous and wildly successful career, Philip Pelusi's philanthropic side has manifested itself in a number of different ways. His salons have joined forces with a variety of charities and non-profit organizations, including the Susan B. Komen Cancer Research Foundation, UPMC, and the University of Pittsburgh Prostate Department of Epidemiology and Prostate Cancer Research.
The arts, believes Pelusi, represent a delicate, yet perfectly viable bond, which intrinsically connects us all. From those who choose to embrace an intellectualized perspective on art, one which is born of knowledge and specialized education, to those possessed of the rare ability to embrace aesthetics on a purely emotional level, few would deny that the role the arts play—and have always played—in society is vital, and their preservation of paramount importance.
